Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs

Ride-Rite air helper springs can be installed on most light trucks, motorhomes, RVs, SUVs, and vans. Firestone air helper springs are installed between the frame of the vehicle and the suspension, providing load support through the use of air pressure.

Firestone has made a commitment to provide the customer with the premium air helper spring kits in the industry. Ride-Rite has become synonymous with quality, durability, and with customer support truly second to none. Each application is specifically designed to maximize the safe load carrying capacity, stability, and ride quality of the vehicle.

Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs utilize a pair of convoluted air springs which can be adjusted for changing loads. These air springs are capable of 3200-5000 lbs of load leveling capacity per set.(Note: Do NOT exceed the vehicle's recommended gross vehicle weight rating GVWR). Firestone air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Ride-Rite air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing inter-leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Basic Kit includes everything for a quick installation:

  • 2 Air springs
  • Brackets
  • Hardware
  • Air line
  • Separate inflation valves for manual inflation
Features & Benefits of Ride-Rite Air Bags and Air Spring Kits

  • Reduce suspension fatigue - keep leaf springs from sagging under repeated or constant load
  • Air adjustments improves the ride - allowing the air springs to be matched to the load
  • Level off-center loads- individual inflation valves allow for adjustment side-to-side
  • Reduce bottoming out - protective air cushion softens contact between the axle and frame
  • Increase vehicle stability - absorbing road shock providing ideal ride conditions for passengers and load

Customer Q&A - Firestone W217602070

I am installing a 2070 airbag helper kit in a 2000 class a motorhome and I am unsure of one thing. The amount of torque that can be applied to the air fitting on the bag. If I follow the supplied instructions, the fitting will sit higher than the bracket and will contact the frame. How much torque can be applied to these fittings? Do I keep tightening until it will no longer contact the frame or should I install a spacer between the upper bracket and the bag? Both fittings need to be approx. 3/16 in lower to clear.....which is about two more full turns. There is enough thread but I'm concerned about it stripping or breaking. Thanks Ken

Asked
Firestone does not publish a torque spec on the fittings. They are recommended to be tightened until secure and free of leaks. In this case, we spoke with Ride-Rite tech and they did recommend tightening until the fitting will clear the bracket and frame and be sure to check for leaks when the install is complete. If you purchased the kit from us, we do offer free technical support, so feel free to call us or email truckspring@truckspring.com. You can also contact Ride-Rite technical and they can guide you further if needed.
