Hellwig Load Pro 35 Helper Springs

This Hellwig helper spring set features Progressive Spring Rate and Fulltime Spring Rate design, this spring is the workhorse of the Hellwig Spring line. With the Progressive design the vehicle must be loaded and its spring compressed to activate the Hellwig Spring, therefore as the vehicles load increases the Hellwig Helper Spring progressively increases its resistance to the load. In the Fulltime design the Hellwig Spring reacts immediately to the vehicles load, compressing very little as a load is applied to the vehicle.

Manufactured with heat treated ASTM 5160 alloy spring steel these units increase your vehicles level load carrying capacity up to the manufacturer’s Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Designed to install on full size pick-up trucks and vans, this unit requires mounting hardware to accommodate 2 1/2" or 3" wide leaf springs. Ideal for helping manage your load more efficiently, these kits are easy to install and require little or no maintenance. Just “Set it and forget it”. The LP 35 is rated at 3500lbs level load carrying capacity, do not exceed the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

The Hellwig Load Pro 35 Series helper spring is designed for full sized pickup trucks, vans, RVs, and sport utility vehicles. The kit contains 2 heavy duty leaf assemblies that run over both sides of the axle. A mounting hardware kit is included with these heavy duty helper springs.

I have 2500hd 2018 gmc . I have a bigfoot camper 3500 pounds without liquids. Now, I have hd Timbren and I don't like that. This helper spring will be good forme? And is it smooth when the thruck is no load?

Depending on what you don't like about the Timbrens these may or may not be a good match for you. The Timbrens will give you the best unloaded ride as they do not contact when unloaded, where a helper spring like this will have preload where it is acting on your unloaded suspension. The preload on these helper springs is adjustable but there will always be some extra stiffness added to the suspension. Neither option will completely eliminate sag because some sag is required for both products to work. This helper spring kit will have less overall capacity than the Timbrens but the helper spring will start to carry weight earlier than the Timbrens depending on how you adjust them. There are many variables in recommending one over the other and it may be best if you contact us directly so we can discuss different load support options with you further.

How is the ride versus stock with no payload?

When using an overload spring like the Hellwig Load Pro 35 you are in control of the unloaded ride quality by adjusting the pre-load that the main leaf of the spring pack is placing on your suspension. By adjusting the u-bolts at the ends of the helper assembly you control how much force is being applied to the springs when unloaded and this adjustment will be what affects the unloaded ride quality. Normally on the lightest setting with the overload just applied there is not a noticeable change, the only time they may become noticeable is on large bumps where the leaf spring flexes more than normal and the helper spring assembly will apply additional pressure.

Does this product increase the payload of the vehicle? ie Does it allow for higher pin weight while towing my 5th wheel? My vehicle is a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD crew cab. Duramax Diesel/Allison tranny. It currently handles the weight, though I'm near max payload.

Hellwig load pro heavy duty helper spring 3512-25312 will not increase the payload in your vehicle. The Hellwig 3512-25312 helper spring is designed to keep the truck level when payload increases. There are many other factors that go into your payload rating, brakes, transmission, etc. The Hellwig helper springs has up to 3500 lbs of load leveling capability.
