I am doing a complete restoration of my dual axle boat trailer. My boat is a 20ft deep V cuddy cabin weighing 2,850 lbs with motor. The original shackle bearings were steel. My question is will nylon bushing handle this load properly and work as well or better?

Yes, the nylon type bushings have been very durable and we use them on springs that carry up to 4,000 LBS each. They should work just as well as steel.
