Customer Q&A - Firestone WR17602097

Hi I have a 1989 p30 chev.chassis factory installed Firestone rear air lift set up my compresser always started when air bags neede now the compresser will not start as I turn on the ignition switches it always did I use a jumper on the solenoid and it works what donI need to repair it my motor home has low mileage

Asked
We would need to know more information about your current air compressor setup to determine why it not working. If you have an air tank in your air system we recommend checking / replacing the pressure switch. If you pressure switch is bad, your air compressor will not start. Feel free to call us at 1-800-358-4751 and we can try to assist.

I have a chevy p30 motor home. That I would like to be able to control each air bag. So I can do front to front or side to side. So each one by itself. And do I need to have a air tank? And sometime I need to get a little more ground clearance in the back of my motor home.Just so I don't hit the back end. Then drop it back down to run on the highway. Can this be done with a air-suspension? Would the air-suspension give me a better ride?

Asked
Firestone air command 2097 is a single control panel that will operate a pair of air springs at the same time. Firestone does have dual control panels, 2219 and 2198 (includes an air tank), that will allow you to control front to rear or side to side. If you wanted to control each air spring individually you would have to add a quad control panel, part 2297 or 2298. The air springs will help level your motohome and provide a better ride. They are designed to maintain stock ride height, but will not raise and lower your motorhome above stock height. They provide support rather than lift.

what size is air line to pump?

Asked
The Firestone 2097 Level Command Heavy Duty Air compressor system uses 1/4" airline. All Firestone air spring kits and air compressor kits use ¼" air line.

Can this be installed on an existing installation?

Asked
Firestone Level Command Heavy Duty Air compressor system 2097 will work in conjunction with installed air spring systems. This air compressor kit will work with all Firestone, Air Lift and Hellwig air bag kits. If this is not the type of system you are referring to, please call us at 1-800-358-4751 for assistance.
