Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs

Ride-Rite air helper springs can be installed on most light trucks, motorhomes, RVs, SUVs, and vans. Firestone air helper springs are installed between the frame of the vehicle and the suspension, providing load support through the use of air pressure.

Firestone has made a commitment to provide the customer with the premium air helper spring kits in the industry. Ride-Rite has become synonymous with quality, durability, and with customer support truly second to none. Each application is specifically designed to maximize the safe load carrying capacity, stability, and ride quality of the vehicle.

Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs utilize a pair of convoluted air springs which can be adjusted for changing loads. These air springs are capable of 3200-5000 lbs of load leveling capacity per set.(Note: Do NOT exceed the vehicle's recommended gross vehicle weight rating GVWR). Firestone air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Firestone kit 2071 uses replacement air bag FIR6781

I have a 1997 F250 4wd. I have the 2071 installed with the 4in spacer kit. I am lifting the truck and will be changing the distance between brackets. Is there a different top bracket that mounts the opposite way (similar to flipping the 2071 top bracket over to lower air bag mounting point another couple of inches)? Thank you

Unfortunately, I do not have information on a different upper bracket that could be used to accommodate a lift. The only solution that we could offer would be a taller ait bag lift spacer to make up for the extra distance between the brackets when the lift is completed.

Will this product help with the ride on my 96 f250 diesel while its unloaded? I know it will help with the trailer on. Just curious if they will help smooth out the ride when im empty?

Firestone air bag kit 2071 will help smooth the ride when loaded. When empty the air bags are typically run at the minimum psi and do not impact the ride. We recommend looking at Bilstein shocks to help improve the ride when empty. If your leaf springs are original on a 96, they may be fatigued, which could also impact the ride quality.

Firestone Ride-Rite kit 2071 will not fit the Ford E-150 vans. The brackets are vehicle specific and they will mount properly on an E Series van. Firestone air bag kit 2171 fits the 2002 E-150 vans.

We recommend Firestone RIde-Rite kit 2550 for a 2003 Ford F-250 SuperDuty with a gooseneck hitch. Firestone kit 2550 mounts on the axle and will not interfere with the gooseneck mounting. The 2071 air bag kit mounts on the leaf springs and some gooseneck hitches or 5th wheels mount in the same place and may not work.

Yes, Firestone air bag kit 2071 will work with a 4 inch lift. You will need a spacer kit, part 2370 to compensate for the 4 inches of lift. Firestone also offers air bag kit 2264 that is designed for a 4 inch lift.

We have not had any issues with Firestone Ride-Rite kit 2071 and RAM 2500's with Gooseneck hitches. Our experience has been good with Dodge trucks with Gooseneck hitches and air bag kits. The kit does mount to the frame rail, so we do recommend you download the installation instructions on our website for this air bag kit. You can see exactly where it mounts and if anything may be interring from you hitch.

I have a 99 dodge ram 2500 i am wondering if the fire stone helper bag kit will work for me. I have lowered the rear of my truck some i have 1 1/2 inches from the top of my leaf spring to the bottom of my frame rail, and 6" from the top of the leaf to the top of my frame rail.. Will they fit and work?

Firestone air bag kit 2071 is designed for stock height trucks and will not work on lowered trucks. Unfortunately, we do not have a air bag kit that will work on a lowered dodge RAM 2500.

Firestone Ride Rite air suspension kit 2071 may work on your 1996 Ford F-250 with a B & W gooseneck hitch. We have spoken with Firestone and Air Lift and both say if the brackets interfere with the mounting brackets on the suspension kit, it will not work. We recommend printing out the instructions and looking to see where the air spring kit mounts in reference to your gooseneck. If the air spring kit will not work, we can offer you a Timbren kit which will help to keep your truck level when loaded. Part number FR250SDE. Firestone air spring kit 2071 will work on a 2006 Ford SD without a fifth wheel. The 4 inch lift may or may not work, it depends on how your truck is lifted. If you changed the distance from the top of your leaf springs to the bottom of your frame by 4 inches you will need Firestone kit 2264 which is for a 4 inch lift. If you did not change this by lifting your truck with a block under the leaf springs, etc. you will not need a different air spring kit or spacers and Firestone air spring kit 2071 will work for you. Firestone air bag kit 2071 will not work on a Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 5th wheel hitch. The 5th wheel hitches interfere with were the Firestone 2071 kit mounts to the frame. Firestone kit 2550 is designed specially for the Ford F-250's with a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch and is the kit you need. Thank you!

Yes, Firestone air spring kit 2071 will work on a 2003 Ford F-350 dually as long as you have 7.50 inches of clearance between the tire and frame. If you tow a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer, you will need to use Firestone Air Spring kit 2550. Firestone kit 2071 will not work with a fifth wheel or gooseneck trailer hitch. Thank you!
