Hellwig Sway Bar
Your truck looks great. Now its time to make it handle great!
Increasing anti-sway-bar diameter or adding a rear Hellwig sway bar can greatly improve handling and stability, whether in a sports car, motorhome or heavily loaded truck. In a lower or raised vehicle, anti-sway bars can also compensate for dynamic handling changes. Hellwig anti-sway bars use 4140 chrome-moly spring grade steel, and bar are entirely heat-formed and coined as one piece, for strength and resistance to torsion.
Reduce Body Roll and Improve Overall Control
Body roll is reduced by the torsional effect of Hellwig Anti-Sway Bars, which transfer pressure from outboard wheels to inboard wheels in a turn. That means weight is more evenly distributed to all four wheels, helping to keep your vehicle more level with the road, and improving you overall control.
Q. What's the difference between Hellwig's Anti-Sway bar and the competition?
A. The biggest difference is that Hellwig's anti-sway bars are made entirely of 4140 chrome-moly spring steel. They use only high-quality heat-treated material. All the Hellwig sway bars are heat-treated, making them some of the strongest on the market; most of the competition just cold-form their sway bars. They also include heat-treated spring-steel mounting brackets with heavy-duty end links and polyurethane bushings in every kit.
60 Years of Hellwig
The history of Hellwig Products Co, Inc. began in Kansas City, Kansas in the early forties. With son Donald by his side, Rudolph, " Ruddy" Hellwig, began designing and manufacturing "Helper Springs". The business was moved to Southern California in the mid forties and incorporated in 1946.
By the mid 60's the company's southern California location proved to be to small and Don moved the Manufacturing facility to its current location in Visalia, California. Throughout the years Hellwig products has developed innovative suspension products that help vehicles handle loads and control sway. Products include Anti-Sway bars aftermarket and O.E.M. Also the most popular and imitated load assist products ever introduced to the light truck aftermarket, the "Load Pro 25 Series".
With a third generation of Hellwig, Don's son Mark directing the business a whole new series of innovations is being introduced. Included in these innovations is the "Next Generation" of load assist springs the patented "Pro Series" line of springs. Plus, a unique adjustable feature on new Anti-sway bar designs. Hellwig is proud to introduce the "FastRack" motorcycle racking system for toyhaulers and light trucks. Now beginning its 60th year Hellwig Products continues to introduce new materials, processes and manufacturing techniques into its product lines.

Tech Tips
Taking the weight off the spring, by lifting the vehicle by the frame, will ease helper spring installation and adjustment.
Pre-assemble sway bars before installation. Install bar, making sure to leave it loose enough for as-needed adjustments. When you are satisfied with the alignment of the end links and clearance on the bar, you
can then tighten to recommended torque ratings.

Q. Can I install Hellwig products myself?
A. Yes! The majority of Hellwig products are completely bolt-on (unless otherwise noted) and can be installed in a minimum of time. They pride themselves on manufacturing some the the finest bolt-on products available in the helper spring market.
Q. Do the helper spring kits include both left and right sides?
A. All Hellwig helper springs come in pairs. For the light and medium spring kits, the mounting hardware is included in the kit. For the heavier-duty LP-25 and LP-34 spring kits, the mounting hardware is sold separately.
Q. With the helper springs, how much more load can I carry?
A. Helper springs do not raise the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVW) rating of your vehicle. They allow the vehicle to carry its designed load capacity without "squatting," and keep it in a more level position.
Q. How do I determine my vehicle's Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) rating?
A. You will find the GVW rating for your vehicle on the ID plate attached to the driver's side door jamb.
