Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs

Ride-Rite air helper springs, often refered to as Firestone air bag kits, can be installed on most light trucks, motorhomes, RVs, SUVs, and vans. Firestone air helper springs are installed between the frame of the vehicle and the suspension, providing load support through the use of air pressure.

Firestone has made a commitment to provide the customer with the premium air helper spring kits in the industry. Ride-Rite has become synonymous with quality, durability, and with customer support truly second to none. Each application is specifically designed to maximize the safe load carrying capacity, stability, and ride quality of the vehicle.

Video - How To Install A Firestone Ride-Rite No Drill Air Bag Kit

Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs utilize a pair of convoluted air bags which can be adjusted for changing loads. These air springs are capable of 3200-5000 lbs of load leveling capacity per set.(Note: Do NOT exceed the vehicle's recommended gross vehicle weight rating GVWR). Firestone air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Ride-Rite air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing inter-leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Basic Kit includes everything for a quick installation:

  • 2 Air springs (Air bags)
  • Mounting Brackets
  • Hardware
  • Air line
  • Separate inflation valves for manual inflation
Features & Benefits of Ride-Rite Air Bags and Air Spring Kits

Customer Q&A - Firestone W217602407

after installing the air bags, can you lift the truck on a lift without braking the bags?

Asked
Firestone has the following notes about lifting the truck with the air bags installed. "If it is necessary to lift the vehicle by the frame, first release the air pressure from the air springs. This will allow the air springs to extend to their maximum length without being damaged. The uninflated air springs are capable of supporting the weight of the axle when the vehicle is lifted by the frame. After servicing of the vehicle is complete, lower the vehicle to the ground and reinflate the air helper springs to the desired pressure. NOTE: On Sport-Rite kits the air helper springs must be aired up to 50 psi and then release the air until the air helper springs are to the desired pressure"

I have a leak at the air bag valve how do i remove the air live from the quick connector

Asked
You can remove the air line by pulling the collar against the fitting and pulling firmly on the air line. You may have to push the airline in while holding the colllar down and they pull it out. Feel free to call us if you need further assistance at 1-800-385-4751

when loading my 2014 Toyota Tacoma with a 6.5 caribou light Camper,f.OUTFITTER MFG. WEIGHT is about 1200#,what is the recommended Inflation Pressure? thank You H.K.Franzgen

Asked
Firestone does not have a recommend air pressure by weight for the air bag kits. Firestone air bag kit 2407 has a minimum air pressure rating of 5 psi and a maximum of 100 psi. The amount of air pressure will vary with the the weight of your trailer and the condition of your suspension. With a 2014 Tacoma, your leaf springs and suspension are still in good condition, so its a matter of tongue weight. At your weight, we recommend hooking up your trailer, inflating the air bags to 15-20 psi and see how it rides and how level it is. You can then adjust up / down from that point to get the ride you prefer. After towing a few times you will have a good idea of what psi you need to be at for a given load / trailer.

I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 double cab TRD. I already have an extra leaf spring in the back to give me an extra 2" of lift. I am interested in installing the air bag kit (2407) and was wondering if the airbags will still work and fit properly even with the extra 2". Thanks, Derek.

Asked
With lifted leaf springs a spacer block should be used with this air bag kit. Firestone air bag kit 2407 uses Firestone spacer kit 2366 for a 2 inch lift.
