Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs

Ride-Rite air helper springs can be installed on most light trucks, motorhomes, RVs, SUVs, and vans. Firestone air helper springs are installed between the frame of the vehicle and the suspension, providing load support through the use of air pressure.

Firestone has made a commitment to provide the customer with the premium air helper spring kits in the industry. Ride-Rite has become synonymous with quality, durability, and with customer support truly second to none. Each application is specifically designed to maximize the safe load carrying capacity, stability, and ride quality of the vehicle.

Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs utilize a pair of convoluted air springs which can be adjusted for changing loads. These air springs are capable of 3200-5000 lbs of load leveling capacity per set.(Note: Do NOT exceed the vehicle's recommended gross vehicle weight rating GVWR). Firestone air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Ride-Rite air helper springs enhance the ride by reducing inter-leaf friction. Please remember that air springs do not increase the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle.

Basic Kit includes everything for a quick installation:

  • 2 Air springs
  • Brackets
  • Hardware
  • Air line
  • Separate inflation valves for manual inflation

Installed to tow my 7000 lb camper with my F-150. Overall easy to install except for nut plates inside of frame, especially on driver side with various lines running across frame opening. I bent the handles of the nut plates to allow for positioning, and when needed used 1 1/2 inch #8 bolts instead of 1 inch bolts provided with kit. You may inadvertently drop the nut plates inside of the frame, so I drilled a small hole in the end of each handle and ran a string temporarily through the handle - much easier to retrieve (worked for me).

Comments about Firestone Ride-Rite Air Spring Kit - Rear:

Installed on a 2011 Ford F-150 which needed help with a 28-foot travel trailer with 1200 pounds of hitch weight. The quality is impressive. The instructions were easy to follow and everything except one upper bracket fit without any alterations. I had to give it a couple of hits with a heavy hammer to get it to fit easily into the frame bracket.

Comments about Firestone Ride-Rite Air Spring Kit - Rear:

Am in the process of installation. From the looks of the product and the simplicity of the install this is a quality engineered product which was well thought out. I haven't hooked up to my trailer yet, but am excited to see how they perform. If the install goes as the instructions say it should go, this should be a breeze.

Comments about Firestone Ride-Rite Air Spring Kit - Rear:

I installed kit on my 13 f150. Reason for buying was to help level pick up when towing fifth wheel camper. Install was easy driver side was a little difficult due to brake lines running along frame. I also teed off one air bag going to chuck. That way the bags fill equal and when taking a corner helps move at from side to side

Better installation instructions on use of nuts inside frame members would help. Finally bent arm on nut plate and installed easily by myself, other wise would have had to have help. Took about 3-1/2 hours by myself for complete install.

I have a 2013 f150 4x4 super crew with a rough country leveling kit. It came with 1" spacer blocks for the rear which dropped my axle one inch. Will this cause any issues with the airbag since it will be spanning a 1" greater distance than stock?

I will be installing this on my 2012 Ford F-150 2WD that has the #3100 Pullrite Superglide fifth wheel hitch. I read somewhere that the #3119 Pullrite custom frame mount would interfere with the Firestone Ride-Rite installation. Is this true? Also in looking up the part # is need I got 2 part #'s from different sources. #2525 and #2488?

                        A:

Firestone makes 2 air bag kits for the 2011 Ford F-150. Firestone Ride-Rite Kit 2525 and Firestone kit 2542 (for models with a B & W hitch only). We have not heard of any problems with the 2525 fitting with Pullrite Superglide 5th wheel hitch, but we recommend contacting Firestone Ride-Rite tech support directly at 1-800-244-4337 and run it by them. You can also download the instructions on our website and see exactly where the kit mounts to the frame and compare it to where your 5th wheel hitch mounts. The Firestone 2488 kit you mentioned fits Ford E-150 Vans only and will not work on an F-150.
