Notes on Clearance
When installing your kit, you may need to adjust the ride height to obtain the proper clearances. Typcially this is required if the suspension has been modified, or is old and sagging. This can be done by altering the kit (changing the rubber spring or bracket) or re-arching the steel spring to renew the optimum ride height.
Timbren recommends the following ride clearances:
Light Duty Pickups & Vans:
- Timbren Rear kits:
- 1 Ton Pickups - ½ inch gap between the rubber Timbren spring and the vehicle's axle
- 1/2 and 3/4 Ton Pickups - approximately 1 inch gap between the rubber Timbren spring and the vehicle's axle
- Timbren Front kits:
Medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers:
- Heavy duty vehicles often have pre-load as outlined in the instruction sheet.
