SumoSprings – We take a look and the new “Airless Air Spring” Suspension Kit

Have you ever used air springs and had a problem with air leaks or blown an air bag while on the road? Frustrating, to say the least. Are you tired of having to check and adjust the air pressure in your air bags to compensate for the weight of your trailer?

SumoSprings are a new “Airless Air Spring” that looks at solving those problems by using a patented micro-cellular polyurethane foam spring. SumoSprings  were designed and developed in direct response to customer demand for a leak proof, rupture proof, maintenance free air bag.

The foam Sumospring uses tiny closed cells that provide support when weight is applied. They are progressive, so the more weight you apply on the spring, the stronger it becomes. Because the SumoSpring is progressive, it won’t affect your ride when you're not towing or hauling a heavy load. This is great for the weekend camper who doesn’t need support all the time.

The installation of a SumoSpring is relatively easy and only takes an hour or two at most. Below is SumoSprings kit SSR-201, 2001-2010 Silverado and Sierra,  fresh out of the box. Currently all of the kits simply bolt into place and do not require drilling. We were impressed by the amount of assembly that is already done at the factory.

With any suspension kit, one of the most common questions is "How much weight can they hold?" If you max out the weight rating on a SumoSpring, the odds are, you're going to break something else on your truck first. The above kit is rated at 10,000 lbs. Because they are progressive, you only use what you need, so they can have a high weight rating and still not have any negative effects on your ride when your not using it.

Already have an air bag kit installed on your truck? Want to switch over to SumoSprings? The designers of SumoSprings have got you covered.  SumoSprings have been designed to fit existing Firestone and Air Lift airbag bracket systems as replacements for ruptured or leaking airbags.

We are very impressed with the new SumoSpring kits and think you will be too. We will post some more install pictures and user reviews in the near future, so stay tuned. Feel free to comment if you've had any experience with SumoSprings.

SumoSprings for Lifted Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee

Do you have a lifted Jeep XJ or XK and want to maximize your load carrying ability and provide stability? SuperSprings International now has your answer in the SumoSpring 403 and the 404 series spring.

SumoSprings are designed to stabilize sway and improve overall driver control and comfort while enhancing load carrying ability. The one-piece, “Solo” design attaches on only one side of the vehicles suspension for easy installation.

Manufactured from proprietary closed microcellular urethane, SumoSprings will compress up to 80% of their original height with full memory rebound.  Easier initial compression will allow softer engagement, greater resistance with heavier loads equaling a progressive load control.

The airless SumoSpring will never leak and cause a loss of performance and are highly resistant to oils, salts and UV ray making them the perfect solution for off road or wet environments. And best of all, they are 100% maintenance free and made in the USA.
