Trailer fenders keep your trailer clean and prevent throwing rocks or objects that can cause damage to your vehicle or others around you. Fenders are required by law to prevent causing a hazard on the roadway. If you are building a new trailer, restoring an old trailer, or just replacing a broken or missing fender, we will have an option that will fit your needs.
Trailer fenders are offered with or without steps. The steps will support up to 300 lbs. with the correct brackets.
Fenders with no steps are the classic half-moon fender shape with no flat surfaces. Keeps your trailer sides clean and keeps your trailer legal.
Top step – These fenders will have a flat step on at the highest point of the fender. The top step will sit relatively high, so these work best where a step is needed, but the fender has a lower mounting.
Top and side steps – These fenders will have the high-top step and the lower side steps on both ends of the fender. These work best with high mounted fenders where it may not be possible to reach the top step without a little help. This step style is great for boat trailers if your boat has a deep hull or on tall sided utility trailers.
All fender types that we carry are made in the USA from high-density polyethylene plastic. They are corrosion proof and impact resistant. They have a built-in fender skirt, and you have color options in white or black.
There are several measurements available on the fenders we carry. More complicated fenders will have additional measurements to aid in the selection of the correct items. Carefully checking your measurements can ensure that you are getting the fender that will fit and function well.
Fenders will first be sorted by the rim size that they are designed to fit. The rim size is a general guide for fender sizing, and it is not advised to use the wheel size alone to decide on the fender radius. Using a larger sidewall tire may make it necessary to go up a size and measurements should still be taken to confirm a good fit.
Fender measurements will vary depending on the style of the fender and how complicated the fender is.
The example below is a Fulton top and side step fender, part number 008584.
A – 9.70” Side step area width
B - 8.00” Top Width
C – 43.40” Total fender length
D – 12.75” Total fender height
E – N/A Not used for this example
F – 3.00” Step Height
M - Mounting Measurements will be followed by a number to differentiate them when there are multiple measurements.
M1 - 30.00” This is a measurement between the mounting tabs on the bottom side of the step. On this fender, the M1 measurement should be compared to the largest diameter of the tire to ensure the tire will not rub inside the fender. Mounting holes are pre-drilled in these tabs.
M2 - 4.00” This is the width of the bracket opening on the back of the fender. This fender is normally used with a “U” shaped bracket like the PF-1135-BKT
M3 - 2.12” This is the distance from the rear of the fender to the first mounting hole. This measurement is provided to show you how the fender will sit on the bracket.
M4 - 3.75” This is the distance between the mounting holes on the inside of the fender. The mounting holes are located on the two tabs described by M1.
Replacing trailer fenders is a simple task, but it will take a bit of creativity and problem-solving. We carry two easy to use bracket styles that can be used to mount any of the fenders we carry. Different trailer and fender designs mean that when replacing or adding fenders a bit of creativity is required by the installer to find the best mounting solution for your situation. The brackets we carry are a PF775-BKT “L” bracket and a PF1135-BKT “U” bracket. These brackets can be used to mount any of the fenders we carry.
Larger fenders are also available for HD truck and trailer. For any questions, please give us a call at 1- 800-358-4751
