Shipping Policy
TruckSpring.com ships orders throughout the United States and accepts international orders.
Most orders ship by UPS. Economy shipments may ship by USPS. Some orders may ship by FedEx
or another carrier when shipped directly from a manufacturer or distributor. Heavy, oversized,
unusually shaped, or multi-package orders may ship by LTL freight carrier.
Shipping Methods
The shipping methods available for your order depend on the products ordered, packaged weight,
dimensions, number of packages, destination, carrier limitations, and whether the order ships
from our warehouse or directly from a manufacturer or distributor.
Shipping rates shown in the cart and at checkout are estimates based on the information available
at the time of order. If the actual shipping charge is different from the estimate, or if your
order requires special shipping arrangements, we will contact you before billing or shipping the order.
Free Shipping
Some items qualify for free standard ground shipping to residential and commercial addresses in the 48 contiguous United States. Free shipping is not available for international orders, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO addresses, expedited shipping, freight/LTL shipments, or special delivery services unless specifically stated.
Items that qualify for free shipping are identified on the product page or in the shopping cart. When an item qualifies, your cart may show a message such as Item Qualifies for Free Ground Shipping.
The shipping method for free-shipping items is selected by TruckSpring.com. Free-shipping orders generally ship by standard ground service, but orders shipped directly from a manufacturer or distributor may ship by another carrier. TruckSpring.com may change or end free-shipping offers at any time.
If your order includes both free-shipping and non-free-shipping items
Free shipping applies only to the items that qualify. If your order includes both free-shipping items and items that do not qualify, you will be charged shipping only for the items that do not qualify.
Example: If Item A has a $7 shipping charge and Item B qualifies for free ground shipping, your order will include the $7 shipping charge for Item A, but you will not be charged shipping for Item B.
Order Processing and Shipping Cutoff
Most in-stock orders begin processing after your online purchase is completed, payment is approved,
and the shipping address is verified. In-stock orders shipping by UPS that are received before
1:00 pm Eastern Time are usually processed and shipped the same business day.
USPS shipments may require additional processing time before pickup. UPS does not consider Saturday
or Sunday a business day when calculating transit times. Orders placed after the cutoff, on weekends,
or on holidays will usually begin processing the next business day.
Leaf spring orders, freight shipments, and other orders requiring special handling may require additional processing time before shipment.
Payment Authorization and Charges
For credit and debit card orders, an authorization may be placed when your order is submitted,
but your card is charged when your order ships. Items that are backordered are not charged until
they ship.
Out-of-Stock Items and Drop Shipments
If an item is out of stock or on backorder, we will notify you as soon as possible, usually within
24 hours of placing your order. To expedite shipping, some products may ship directly from a
manufacturer or distributor. This is commonly called a drop shipment.
Drop-shipped orders may ship by UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL freight, or another carrier selected by the
manufacturer or distributor. We will notify you if there is a shipping cost difference before the
order is billed or shipped.
Post Office Boxes
Lighter packages can be shipped to P.O. Boxes by USPS. UPS and FedEx do not deliver to P.O. Boxes,
so items shipped by those carriers require a physical street address. Larger, heavier, oversized,
or freight items cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.
Shipping Notifications
When your order ships, we will send an email with tracking information when tracking is available.
Shipping Refunds
Shipping charges are refunded if:
- We shipped a product different from the product ordered. This does not apply when the product shipped matches the order, but the customer selected the wrong product for the application.
- A product shipped from our warehouse is confirmed to have arrived broken or defective, and the return or replacement is approved by us.
- A product is damaged during shipping and the damage is covered through the applicable carrier-claim process.
If we re-ship a product in these cases, there will be no second shipping charge.
Handling Fees
We do not charge separate handling fees. Shipping charges are based on package weight, dimensions,
destination, carrier service, and applicable carrier rates.
LTL Freight Shipments
LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight is used to ship heavy, oversized, or unusually shaped products
that cannot be shipped economically or safely through a standard parcel carrier. For some heavier
orders, LTL freight may also be more cost-effective than UPS or FedEx because of parcel-carrier
large-package and oversize surcharges.
When does my order ship LTL?
- Individual packages over 150 lbs: Must ship by LTL freight or another freight service because standard parcel carriers generally do not accept individual packages over 150 lbs.
- Many orders over 110 lbs: When both parcel and LTL shipping are available, checkout may display estimated rates for each option so you can choose the method that works best for your order.
- Orders under 110 lbs: Usually ship by UPS, FedEx, or USPS. Oversized, unusually long, or unusually shaped items may still require LTL freight regardless of weight.
The final shipping method is based on the packaged weight, dimensions, number of packages,
destination, and carrier limitations. For some heavier or oversized orders, both parcel and
LTL estimates may be displayed at checkout.
Residential vs. Commercial Freight Delivery
One of the most common sources of confusion with LTL freight is how carriers classify a delivery
location. A business name, tax status, or legal registration does not automatically make an address
commercial for freight purposes.
Freight carriers determine whether a destination is commercial, residential, or limited-access
based on the physical delivery location and their own classification rules. Locations commonly
subject to residential or limited-access charges include homes, home-based businesses, farms,
ranches, construction sites, schools, churches, storage facilities, and businesses located in areas
that are difficult for freight equipment to access.
Freight networks are designed primarily for deliveries to commercial locations with regular business
hours and easy truck access. Deliveries that require additional time, scheduling, equipment, or
handling may be subject to residential, limited-access, liftgate, appointment, or other accessorial
charges.
If an address is entered as commercial but the carrier later classifies it as residential or
limited-access, the shipment may be delayed and additional charges may apply. To avoid surprises,
we review the delivery address on every LTL order and will contact you before the order ships
if we identify additional delivery charges.
Carrier classifications and charges are ultimately determined by the freight carrier. If you are
unsure how your location will be classified, call us at 1-800-358-4751 before placing
your order and we will help review the delivery requirements.
LTL Delivery Expectations
- Deliveries are typically made during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
- Freight carriers commonly call to schedule a delivery appointment for residential locations and some limited-access locations.
- Standard residential freight delivery is generally curbside or to the nearest safely accessible point.
- You are responsible for unloading the shipment unless additional unloading services have been arranged.
- If you do not have a loading dock or forklift, liftgate service may be added for an additional charge.
- Liftgate service lowers the shipment from the truck to ground level. It does not include moving the shipment into a building, garage, residence, or other location unless inside delivery has been separately arranged.
- Please let us know at the time of order if you need liftgate service, inside delivery, or another special service.
Delivery Appointments, Missed Deliveries, and Additional Charges
The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information and for being
available at the agreed delivery time.
Carrier charges resulting from an unsuccessful delivery attempt, incorrect delivery information,
refused delivery, storage, redelivery, address reclassification, or services requested at the time
of delivery may be charged to the customer unless the issue resulted from an error by Michigan Truck Spring.
Do not request additional services directly from the driver unless you understand that the carrier
may charge for those services. Contact us before delivery if your unloading or access requirements change.
Inspection on Delivery
Please inspect your LTL shipment carefully at the time of delivery. Check the packaging and visible
portions of the product for signs of damage before signing the delivery receipt.
If damage is visible, describe it clearly on the delivery receipt before signing. Do not write only
“subject to inspection.” Freight carriers may require specific damage notes on the delivery receipt
before approving a claim.
Save the product, pallet, carton, wrapping, straps, and all other packing materials. Contact us
immediately at 1-800-358-4751 so we can assist with the claim. Please see our
Return Policy for additional information.
International Shipments
We accept international orders. Customs duties, taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, and import
restrictions are the customer's responsibility. Please review our
International Orders page for details.
