Toyota Tacoma Leaf Spring Recall

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued a recall on Toyota Tacoma pickups. The recall covers Tacoma 4x4 and Pre-Runner pickups from the 2005 through 2011 model years. The recall affects over 600,000 trucks manufactured from September 14, 2009, to October 11, 2010. On these trucks one of the leaf springs may break (either from stress or corrosion) and as a result the fuel tank may be punctured causing a fuel leak. Toyota has not yet released a remedy for this recall but it is expected to begin recalling vehicles at the end of November 2014.

Owners will be notified by mail and Toyota says dealers will fix the problem at no cost. If you have any questions about the Toyota leaf spring recall you can call Toyota at (800) 331-4331.

Your right , It took them over a year to replace my seat beat recall, and that took two( appointment ) visits because they didn't have the parts, I'm still wondering if they did it, my seat belt is still the same, during my visit they managed to loose my after market Tacoma TRD hitch pug.... And they managed to take gouges out of my rim bolt recesses, while rotating the wheels Reno Toyota( that I paid for), And when I  had the wife in the truck my air/bag lights is in off mode(nice going Toyota)...I had to advise them to have the part designated to the vehicle with app..

We had to replace our leafsprings in our 2009 Tacoma in June 2013 Toyota will not give us our money back even though there is a recall on them. They say there is no remedy for those that paid and repaired their trucks before the recall, we need to wait till they figure out how to fix the problem of those who already had to repair our trucks (the only remedy is to pay us for the repair which they will not) I have such a bad opinion of Toyota  and their customer service I will never buy a Toyota again. I have received 2 notices and they still refuse to give me my money back. I was finally just told to send in paperwork ( current owners registration ( like that should even matter) canceled check and letter and they will consider it. Even then there is no I still may not get it. SHAME on TOYOTA and their lousy customer service.

Been over 4 months since I got the first notice, nothing since. Not knowing what might happen if I towed a trailer, it made a move from Oregon to Cal. extra stressful. Hope Toyota gets their act together soon.

My Tacoma springs actually snapped while I was driving. Toyota has had my truck since August 2015
