Our auxiliary lamps are housed in heavy duty steel or high impact rubber and feature a high powered sealed beam lamp.
A sealed beam lamp is a lamp that includes a reflector and a filament as a single assembly with a glass lens. The lens array, reflector and bulb are all one unit all of which must be replaced in the occurrence of a burn out.
Some of our sealed beam lamps are sealed halogen beam lamps. These lamps use an additional envelope around the filament that contains halogen gas to improve the life of the bulb and efficiently increase the amount of light output.
Much of our auxiliary lighting makes use of PAR Lamps. PAR lamps, or Parabolic Aluminized Reflector lamps, produce an intense oval pool of light with unfocused edges. The lens, reflector and bulb are usually a single fixed piece which must be replaced as a single piece.
PAR lamps vary in size and are rated by the diameter of the lamp. The nominal lamp bell diameter (in inches) of a par lamp can be determined by dividing the PAR size by 8. For example, a PAR36 Lamp has a 4.5 inch diameter.
