is this the proper spring for a 1984 w900? also is the measurement eye to eye or just the body of the spring?

The 22.25 inches is from end to end, overall length. The body of the spring is 17.95 inches. They do not have an application listing for the hood spring, so we cannot verify it will fit a 1984 W900. You would have to contact a dealer and give them your VIN number to verify your truck uses Kenworth OEM number K22451 or K224-51. It is a direct replacement for the Kenworth part.

The kenworth pn of the spring I need is L71-1002. What spring do you have that will work for that truck? Thanks

Without actually seeing the Kenworth Hood Spring to match it up, we would need the OEM number. You can contact a Kenworth dealer and give them your VIN. They can provide you with the OEM number for the hood spring and we can match it up for you with an aftermarket Kenworth Hook Spring.
