Leaf Springs 43-1555HD Details

Leaf Springs Important Role

Your leaf springs are one of the most important parts of your trucks suspension. If your leaf springs are shot or showing fatigue from old age, it is recommended to change them both out at the same time. If you only change one leaf spring, it is common that your truck will lean toward the side with the older leaf spring. If you purchase one leaf spring and decided to replace the other one at a later date, you may receive a spring from another manufacturer as we source our springs from multiple manufacturers. It is recommend to replace them in pairs to guarantee a match.

Replacing your leaf springs with a high quality OEM leaf spring from Michigan Truck Spring will help improve your ride in the following ways:

  • Less bounce, which means more solid contact with the road and therefore longer tire life.
  • Driver comfort is greatly improved.
  • Your payload sits tight, significantly reducing cargo damage.
  • Smoother ride and less bottoming out.
  • Safety! Your truck will handle better which means it's safer.

All the leaf springs at TruckSpring.com are made to or exceed OEM quality:

  • Made from SAE 5160 Steel, Same as OEM leaf springs.
  • All raw steel is manufactured by steel mills that use the continuous cast (Stran-cast) process, same as OEM leaf springs.
  • Each leaf from the leaf springs is shot peened to specific intensity and coverage.
  • Each leaf spring is coated to prevent corrosion and rust.

If you have any questions about how to identify the correct leaf spring for your vehicle or need bolts or other replacement parts, call us at 1-800-358-4751.

Customer Q&A - Leaf Springs 43-1555HD

My truck (2006 F150) currently has the 3 leaf set up. How much will the new springs (2400lb capacity) raise the back of my truck?

Asked
The 3 leaf spring, 43-1679 has 7-1/4" arch, 1-5/8" pack thickness, 1,500 lb. weight capacity. The 43-1555HD 5 leaf spring has 7-5/8" arch, 2-1/4" pack thickness, 2,400 lb. weight capacity. The 43-1555HD spring has a 3/8" taller pack thickness and a 3/8" higher arch. To sum it up, the 43-1555HD would be about 3/4" taller than the 43-1679 spring. As long as the 43-1679 is the correct original spring. Would need more information to verify. There would not be a significant height differential with the 5 leaf spring, although, any new spring installed on a vehicle with fatigued springs will raise the vehicle up higher than what the old spring's height was and back up to stock height. Feel free to call me at 1-800-358-4751 if you have any questions or would like to confirm your OEM springs.

will this 5 leaf work for my 2007 ford f150 xlt extended cab that came with a 3 leaf system.

Asked
Yes, this spring will work to replace the 3 leaf spring. The 5 leaf has a spring capacity of 2,400 lbs. compared to 1,500 lbs with the 3 leaf . The springs will support more weight and reduce sagging. With the increased spring capacity you will have a stiffer ride when not loaded.

If my F-150 has the stock 3 leaf springs on it now, could I swap them out with the 5 leaf spring?

Asked
This is a suitable HD replacement for a 2004-2008 F-150 2 or 4 wheel drive. Without knowing the exact year of your truck I can't say yes for sure that it will work for you. Feel free to call us at 1-800-358-4751 if you have any other questions about leaf springs for your Ford F-150.

will these 5 leaf springs work on a 2004 f150 fx4 extended cab that came with 4 leaf?

Asked
Yes, the 5 leaf spring will work. The length and arch measurements of the leaf spring are the same the only change is +3/8" to the pack thickness due to the added capacity.

Will these springs require replacement of factory U-bolts?

Asked
You should always replace your u-bolts when replacing your leaf springs. We stock and can bend up any size of u-bolts for Ford Trucks. You can call us at 1-800-358-4751 and we can help you with determining the correct u-bolts for your Ford truck. Thank you.

Leaf Springs

At TruckSpring / Michigan Truck Spring, we obtain our leaf springs from various sources throughout the world. All of the manufacturers that we represent produce leaf springs that are as good as or better quality than OEM springs.

Virtually no vehicle manufacturer actually manufactures their own leaf springs. Like many other truck components, leaf springs are purchased from companies specializing in supplying parts to truck manufacturers. The springs we sell have the same or better quality as OEM springs and many times are purchased from the same manufacturer.

Leaf Springs Warranty

1 Year Limited Warranty

On all leaf springs.

What the warranty does not cover

Damage from accidents, corrosion, improper installation, incorrect applications, overloading, and custom applications that are not specified under the OEM cross references. This warranty does not cover loss of freight, loss of profit, equipment, or personal downtime. Any alteration of products will void the warranty. Warranty is void if new u-bolts are not installed when the new leaf spring is installed. Using existing u-bolts is a common cause for leaf spring breakage and failure.
